mas coustan - 0.75 L
Mas Coustan received a 9 for price/quality in the Volkskrant. "Bloodlink blackcurrant and blackberry stuff, a rustle of herbs behind it, powerful but not stiff. Here you can taste global warming, but until further notice - this is the 2018 - everything is still under control. Supportively tasty and uncomplicated." "Despite the heat in the Languedoc, tireless red fruit and firm, cool cassis. A plum and a laurel licorice. In the background rosemary and thyme, originally from the region and therefore available." - Harold HamersmaA red wine from France with the following history. Shortly after the revolution of 1789, Jean Théodore Coustan and his family left Mudaison and moved to Saint-Christol (France). There they bought a 16th century mas (stone farmhouse) together with ten hectares of vineyards and land. These vineyards are still cultivated and are largely located north of the village in the AOP part of the terroir. Viticulture has developed further over the years and now covers an area of 60 hectares. It is now the 7th generation that has taken over the tradition and protects the tradition of wine making.
