Beemster Belegen is a naturally matured cheese, and has a tasty balance between the spiciness of an old cheese and the softness of the younger variety. Real cheese comes from the Beemster. That is cheese made with 100% fresh North Holland pasture milk. We make it in the Beemster polder, because that is where our cheese factory is located. Throughout the entire chain, we work with attention to people, animals and the environment. From blade of grass to cheese. From farmer to cheesemaker. We remain true to traditions, such as stirring the curds by hand and allowing the cheese to mature naturally. In addition, our Beemster cheese is made completely climate neutral! In other words, good care for our world. Then the grass is at its best, the cow healthy, the milk of the best quality, the farmer happy and the cheese the tastiest!
