Campo Viejo is one of the large and well-known bodegas in Rioja. The house is known for its innovative approach and they do that with a wine like this, for example. The taste of Rioja is probably well known, that full, soft red wine from Spain with vanilla and sometimes some coconut. This is also a Rioja, but different. Most Riojas are mainly made of tempranillo. This Rioja consists of 1% garnacha. It is lighter and above all more nimble than other Riojas and therefore nice to drink without anything. It is dry, but with that fresh sweet, jammy taste of ripe cherries and a hint of vanilla from aging in American oak barrels. For this and with easy dishes with chicken, ham or (goat) cheese. Also goes well with fried fish.
