Delightful with meat and with the new vegetable kitchen. From the same makers as Pétrus, the most expensive wine in the world. This wine is an elegant, classic wine with a modern, smooth, fruity twist. Colour, taste: red, robust Grape variety: merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon Country, region: France, Bordeaux Delicious with: Beef, Game Awarded: De Grote Hamersma 8.5 Château Juguet is located in the municipality of Saint-Pey d’Armens, south of the town of Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux. It is owned by the Moueix family, who also own the famous winery Pétrus. The vines are on average 25 years old. The wine has matured for 12 months in barrique, a new oak barrel. One year of barrel aging is enough to make the wine softer and rounder, and also short enough to preserve the fresh fruitiness. Château Juguet is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. The wine region has various classifications from Premier Grand Cru to the ‘ordinary’ protected designation of origin, PDO, which was formerly the AOC. Grand Cru is a quality level above this PDO.
