Usage
Split peas are a natural product and, despite careful cleaning, may still contain a small stone that has come from the land.
Serving: Tip: For a spicy chowder, add a few spoons of sambal. Would you prefer a vegetarian chowder? Then leave out the meat and add extra vegetables. Delicious with garlic croutons made from old bread from the oven.
Preparation: Recipe Basic Pea Soup. (4 to 6 people). Requirements: 500 g HAK split peas, 2 liters of water, 2 small chopped onions, 200 g soup vegetables, salt or stock cubes. Preparation method: 1. You do not need to pre-soak the split peas. Wash the split peas and slowly bring to the boil with water and salt or stock cubes. 2. From the moment the split peas boil, continue to simmer gently in a closed pan for about 1 to 2 hours until the split peas fall apart and are done. Stir regularly. Split peas are a natural product. As a result, the cooking time may vary. 3. Add the soup vegetables and chopped onions and let it simmer for another 20 to 30 minutes. Add extra water if the soup becomes too thick.
