Koopmans cake flour

    Koopmans started in 1846 in a buckwheat mill where owner Uilke Klazes Koopmans worked daily with the grinding of buckwheat. He provided local residents with grits and ground buckwheat for their breads and other dishes.

    Usage

    For 2 cakes

    Preparation: Needed for 1 cake REQUIREMENTS • 225 g Koopmans Cake flour • 200 g butter or margarine • 200 g white caster sugar • 3 eggs • 25 ml milk (2 tablespoons) • Optional: 150 g blueberries or raspberries. (everything at room temperature) . KITCHEN EQUIPMENT • Cake tin 30cm, • Mixer with whisks, • Mixing bowl. PREPARATION TIME PREPARATION: ± 20 MINUTES, COOKING TIME: 60 - 70 MINUTES, OVEN TEMPERATURE Electric oven: 160°c, hot air oven: 150°c, gas oven: position 2-3. PREPARE 1. Place the rack slightly below the center of the oven and preheat the oven. 2. Grease the cake tin with butter and dust the inside with flour or use a baking spray (e.g. Dr. Oetker). PREPARE THE BATTER 3. Beat the 200g butter with the mixer in a mixing bowl until soft and creamy. 4. Add the 200g sugar and mix until smooth. 5. Mix in the eggs one by one and beat on high for about 3 minutes until a smooth batter is obtained. 6. Add the cake flour (225g, ½ pack) and the 25 ml milk in two parts and mix for 1 minute on the highest setting until a smooth batter. 7. Add a handful of blueberries or raspberries to the batter if desired. BAKE 8. Pour the batter into the cake tin. 9. Bake the cake for 60-70 minutes until done and golden brown. 10. Place the cake in the cake tin on a rack and let the cake cool for 10 minutes. 11. Remove the cake from the cake tin and let it cool further on the rack.
