This is a really powerful, full-bodied wine that tastes best when eaten with it. For example, large meat from the oven or a spicy stew. It has aromas of candied fruit and notes of tobacco and mocha from the aging in oak barrels. Very clever that such a muscular wine also remains so beautifully balanced and hangs nice and soft. La Motte has been working for a number of years to grow completely organic grapes. Because they believe in the importance of bio-diversity at La Motte, they grow native flowers on parts of the land that are unsuitable for viticulture. The house has a large collection of rare orchids. In addition to all wines, La Motte's shop also sells flowers and essential oils extracted from La Motte's flowers.
