An iconic west coast IPA brewmaster Jeremy Marshall has said he has used the same recipe for this IPA since 1995. And don't blame him, because his brew is now drunk all over the world and applauded by both novice specialty beer drinkers and experienced hopheads. Lagunitas brewing company is one of the largest and fastest growing craft beer breweries in the United States. The brewery was founded in 1993 in California by Tony Magee. Like so many great brewers of today, he started brewing at home in his own kitchen. After a major kitchen fire (and a ruined Thanksgiving dinner as a result), his wife Carissa demanded that Tony relocate his brewing practices. Tony moved his mini-brewery to an old barn, but that too soon became too small.
