One tablet of Losecosan works for 24 hours against recurring heartburn. This way you can work all day or enjoy a good night's sleep, without heartburn lurking. Losecosan is an antacid; it inhibits stomach acid production at the source. Special cells in the stomach lining produce the stomach acid needed to digest the food we eat. In most people, these special cells are turned on or off at the right times and thus maintain a natural balance in the stomach. In others, too many cells can produce acid, which can cause heartburn. Losecosan regulates this action of the cells in the stomach wall for 24 hours, so that enough, but not too much, stomach acid is produced. This means that no excess stomach acid ends up in the stomach or esophagus. Losecosan works on the basis of 20 mg omeprazole. The active substance is in patented MUPS tablets, which are developed to be easily absorbed into your body and are easy to swallow. Possibly in a glass of water, but they can also be dissolved in still water or fruit juice. Losecosan can be used by pregnant women, even during breastfeeding. Always consult with a doctor or midwife.
Usage

Contraindication: Do not use if you are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine or products containing proton pump inhibitors, such as pantoprazole, lanzoprazole, rabeprazole or esomeprazole. When using medicine with nelfinavir.
Indication: To be used to treat reflux complaints, such as heartburn and acid reflux in adults.
Age indication: from 18 years
Dosage: Dosage: 1 tablet once per day Max. Daily dosage: 1 tablet per 24 hours. Dosage: Take the tablets in the morning and swallow them whole with half a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablets. The complaints usually diminish after 1 day, but sometimes use for 2 to 3 consecutive days is necessary before the complaints diminish. Most users are free of complaints after 7 days and can then stop treatment. Do not use for more than 14 consecutive days without consulting a doctor. Warnings and restrictions on use
- This medicine carries a risk of side effects (such as osteoporosis, intestinal infections and kidney failure) with long-term use. We advise you to read the package leaflet before use.
- Do not use if you are being monitored by the thrombosis service. Omeprazole can disrupt blood clotting.
- Do not use in children under 18 years of age.
- Do not use without consulting a doctor if you are also taking other medications.
- Do not use in case of poor liver function.
- Do not use in congenital heart rhythm disorders without consulting a doctor.
- Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine if you have been taking the medicine for more than 8 weeks. Then gradually reduce it.
