You will recognize this Tawny port by its brown color and the aromas of dried fruit with nutty and caramel-like flavors. It is a sweet dessert wine, balanced by the acidity of the fruit. The port type is matured in small oak barrels and is therefore in contact with oxygen, which creates the caramel-like aromas. Quinta da Valeira is port from the estate (quinta) in Valeira, in the Douro Valley. Perched high above the Douro River it is fresh enough for elegant wines.
