It is a wine for traditional Italian dishes like spaghetti bolognese and pizza, but it also works well as a lightly chilled red wine with roasted mackerel or crispy oven-baked chicken. The wine comes from San Silvestro, a winery from Novello, not far from the town of Barolo.
