Ulisse Pecorino lands of Chieti

Powerful wine from the popular, special pecorino grape. This is a white wine to enjoy with fish and chicken. Also try it with a (shrimp) croquette. Not that it was well known outside Abruzzo before, but the grape seemed to vanish from the vineyards altogether. Tenuta Ulisse is one of the wineries that continued to believe in pecorino. The grape produces powerful wines with a soft aftertaste and is meant to be enjoyed with food, for example with hearty fish dishes and a piece of pecorino, Italian sheep’s cheese. The grape’s name actually comes from sheep. When the flock was moved to another meadow, the animals preferred to nibble on these grapes. At Tenuta Ulisse, they see another similarity between their wine and a sheep: both have strength and feel gentle.
