The winery has a long history dating back to 1685. There have been good and bad times, but since 1990 it has been doing very well. The people who took over then have focused on growing sémillon, sauvignon blanc, and chardonnay. These three white varieties benefit in Constantia from the eastern location of the vineyards and the cool sea breeze, which allows them to ripen evenly and retain their fresh acids. This Chardonnay Réserve is full and round thanks to fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, some of which are new. It has the rich flavor of juicy peach, orange marmalade, and vanilla. Due to its soft style, it is very suitable as a relaxing wine and pairs well with oily fish and creamy dishes such as fish lasagna, vegetable quiche, and chicken curry.
