Everyone likes this. With dessert or just like that, in the sun. It is as if you are biting into juicy, ripe muscat grapes. Delightfully light thanks to its low alcohol content. Colour, taste: bubbles, lightly sweet Grape variety: muscat Country, region: Italy, Piedmont Goes well with: Dessert, Cheese The Piedmont wine region is almost entirely surrounded by the Alps. Piedmont means: at the foot of the mountains. This is the land of mist, mysteries, truffles, and of Barolo, Barbera, and Barbaresco. Winemakers do not have it easy in the cool, misty, often wet north. To make quality wines, you need southern slopes here. Fontanafredda has no less than 7 hectares of these. This ancient Italian winery was founded in 1878 by Emanuele Guerrieri di Mirafiori, the illegitimate son of King Victor Emanuel II. Besides the company itself, he built stately homes, a hunting lodge, farmhouses, a church, and had gardens laid out. You can visit this wine village. You will also see the spring from which you can draw fresh water: the cold fountain.
