In the Rhône, they originally make rosé with more color and a full flavor, making it especially enjoyable to eat with food. Try this wine with a tuna salad, roasted vegetables, or chicken skewers. In recent years, light pink rosé was by far the favorite. You will certainly still see that, but there is now a choice: rosé with a deeper color and fuller flavor that feels a bit stronger and is therefore perfect for the table and the barbecue. This type of rosé has always been made in the Rhône. It consists of grenache, cinsault, and syrah, from which separate wines are first made. In December, the winemaker works on the right blend. Grenache makes it full-bodied, cinsault adds extra fruit, and syrah gives it color, spices, and strength. This results in a juicy rosé with body that is perfect for a dressed-up gathering and at the table. It comes from Gabriel Meffre, one of the best-known wineries in the Rhône since 1936.
