Vegter’s history
Our bakery was founded in 1874. At that time, Gerrit Vegter took over an existing bakery at the lock in Martenshoek in Hoogezand. The location has remained the same ever since, but over the years the business has continued to develop. Traditionally, the company is passed down from father to son: from Gerrit to Jacobus to Gerrit to Jacobus to Gerrit. Today, the 5th generation runs the company.
