35% of this white Chilean La Palma wine is fermented in new French oak barrels and then aged for 6 months on the lees for extra flavor. You can clearly taste pineapple, pear, and vanilla in this wine. Founded in 1824, Viña La Rosa is one of Chile’s oldest wineries. In 1824, Don Francisco Ignacio decided to buy a hacienda for his firstborn son. He fell in love with the beautiful landscape of the Cachapoal Valley, 120 kilometers south of Santiago. He bought the hacienda from Chile’s first president, Manuel Encalada. The purchase included not only the farm, but also wine barrels, wine cellars, and grapevines imported from France. Since then, the family has devoted itself with great passion to viticulture. Today, the sixth generation is at the helm of this winery.
