The Windmills Rosé
This rosé is as light and fresh as a fruity white wine but has a bit more body. This makes it especially tasty with spicy tapas, salads, chicken, and vegetarian dishes. Color, taste: rosé, dry Grape variety: tempranillo Country, region: Spain, Valdepeñas Good with: Salad, Vegetarian Spanish rosé usually tastes a bit fuller, riper, and sturdier than those from Provence. That is why it pairs well with spicy dishes. What sets it apart from other rosés are the grape variety and the origin. The Los Molinos Rosado is based on the Spanish tempranillo grape. It comes from Valdepeñas. This town and the wine region of the same name lie in the heart of Spain. Valdepeñas means 'valley of the stones.' This refers to the riverbed that is bone dry in summer due to lack of rain. Because temperatures in summer can rise above 40 degrees Celsius, it is important that the grapes are processed quickly and coolly after harvest. Only then do you get a rosé with a fresh, fruity taste. In the ultramodern, temperature-controlled cellars of Félix Solís, this is well possible. Félix Solís has been making wines in Valdepeñas since 1975.
