Pannier Dry Sparkling Wine

A very affordable Champagne. Champagne may only be called Champagne if it comes from the Champagne region. Characteristic of Champagne is the second fermentation in the bottle, which creates the bubbles. 'Regular' wine is bottled and then a liqueur de tirage is added to the bottled bottle: a mixture of sugar and yeast cells dissolved in wine. This causes a second fermentation during which the bubbles form. By aging on the yeast cells for at least 15 months, the sparkling wine gains a richer flavor. Founded in the late 19th century by Louis - Eugene Pannier, this house was taken over in 1971 by a cooperative. This cooperative now owns 600 hectares of vineyards, enough to choose from many different cuvées for the best blend!
