Patak's Madras spice paste is an authentic blend of freshly ground spices including tamarind, cardamom, coriander, chili, and cumin. With Patak's spice mixes, you can create your own flavorful curry. Also perfect for barbecues, marinades, and to add the Indian taste to your everyday meal. Free from artificial preservatives, colorings, and flavorings. Suitable for vegetarians. Madras is spicy in flavor and a bright red color. This spice paste is named after a region in the south of India, now called Chennai. Recipe for chicken madras - serves 4: Fry an onion in some oil. Add 1 teaspoon each of finely chopped ginger and garlic and the jar of spice paste, cook for 1-2 minutes. Add 50 ml water and cook until the water has evaporated. Add 500 g sliced chicken breast and briefly fry. Add 200 g diced tomatoes and 100 ml water, simmer gently until the chicken is cooked (about 15 minutes). Add spices to taste. Garnish with coriander and serve with rice and naan.
