Planeta Chardonnay

This wine has become an icon of the changes that have taken place in Sicilian winegrowing. After years of bulk wine production, Alessio Planeta showed that top-quality wines can also be made here. This oak-aged, very concentrated Chardonnay won every prize at international competitions. The grapes for these wines come from the west of Sicily, from “La Dispensa”. The hilly landscape and the proximity of the sea provide a moderate climate, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and the aromas to develop optimally. Planeta is one of the winemakers who put Sicily back on the map as a region for magnificent wines. From west to east he planted vineyards and established “Boutique Wineries”.
