Cannounau di Sardegna means grenache from Sardinia. It is a full-bodied, smooth wine with a delicate aroma and the taste of plum jam and mild spices. Enjoy it with pasta and as an evening wine, with cheese. Color, taste: red, supple Grape variety: grenache/garnacha Country, region: Italy, Sardinia Good with: Pasta, Pork Awarded: De Grote Hamersma 8.5 On the Italian island of Sardinia, many elements of the Mediterranean come together. It is Italian, but you also clearly find French and some Spanish influences. You can taste this in the dishes and in the wines. This Cannounau di Sardegna, for example, is made from the grenache grape, which is also common in France and Spain (as garnacha). It tastes full, soft, and smooth with the fruitiness of ripe red plum and mild, eastern spices. A wine style that pairs well with pasta and cheese, but also with fragrant Indonesian dishes. The winery Sella & Mosca is located on the coast near Alghero, in the northwest of Sardinia. It was founded long ago, in 1899, by two men from Piedmont, an engineer and a lawyer.
