This means that the animals from which the meat in these products comes have had a better life than animals without this label. There are strict guidelines for this, set by the animal protection organization. Unox ragout comes in 4 varieties. A vegetarian variety with mushrooms, one with veal, one with chicken, and one with beef. Lovely to serve in a pastry shell, but also tasty on a warm toasted bun, for example. There are various stories about the origin of the Unox brand name. Some claim that someone once thought to combine Unilever, Oss, and ox (English for bull) into Unox.
