Organic stone-ground wheat flour
Organic wheat flour from the Netherlands. This flour is stone-ground. As a result, it contains more fibre than regular flour. This makes the flour slightly less pale in colour and gives it extra flavour. Very suitable for baking flavourful (sourdough) bread and/or making your own sourdough starter. A collaboration between Albert Heijn and Het Graanschap. Het Graanschap works directly with various farmers in the Netherlands. The wheat is grown organically and then stone-ground into refined flour. This way, we work together towards a future with more locally grown grain. Our farmers grow it with care and attention—fully organic, so without artificial fertilisers and without synthetic pesticides. Our Albert Heijn bakers also like to use this same flour. For example, it is used in Liefde & Passie OerDesem Bio Blond and Bakkersbrood OerDesem Bio Meergranen. These are breads with a long rising process.
