Pellegrino Cellar Marsala Fine

This Marsala is a fortified wine made from the grapes: Grillo, Catarratto, and Inzolia. After aging for more than a year, this typical Marsala is created. The wine is amber-colored and has a rich flavor. This Marsala Fine is delicious with strong cheeses such as Parmesan, aged Dutch, or blue cheeses. Marsala is an ingredient in the classic Italian dessert Tiramisu. The name Pellegrino is well-known in the wine world of Sicily. The family business was founded in 1880 in Marsala by Paolo Pellegrino. Today, Pellegrino has grown into a large company with a total of 400 hectares of vineyards owned, spread over the best parts of the island, mainly in the western region. The heart of Carlo Pellegrino beats in the historic wine cellars of the old town of Marsala. This is where the famous Marsala comes from, like sherry, madeira, and port, a wine fortified with alcohol. Marsala is a fascinating wine, made from native grapes such as Grillo, Catarratto, and Inzolia. Marsala always matures in wooden barrels, the finest sometimes for more than 20 years, partly in barriques.
