We are André and Els van Rhee, the third generation of butchers from the lovely village of Uddel, right in the heart of the Veluwe. Between 1999 and 2003, we took over the butcher shop from André’s uncle and father. Meat and sausage making runs in our blood. Over the years, we have received several awards, including the Bronze Smoked Sausage prize. We have also been ranked multiple times among the best sausage makers in the Netherlands. Our distinctive Gelderland cooked sausage is lightly smoked over oak and beech wood, just as it was done in the old days. This creates the wonderfully mild aftertaste of (a little) smoke on a tasty, tender slice of cooked sausage.
