On bread and as a snack with drinks, the Kookworst sausage is a treat. The sausage is at its best when you warm it briefly in hot water. Made according to a traditional recipe Prepared in natural casing for an optimal taste experience My name is Patrick van der Meer. Together with my brothers John (right) and Marco (left), we form the fourth generation of our family business in Roelofarendsveen. We have shops in Nieuw Vennep and Roelofarendsveen and operate a modern production site. In 2005, we took over the butcher’s shop from father Cees and mother Ria. The fifth generation also helps out during busy times. Our loyal employees ensure that we can refine and improve our sausage recipes. The result: several awards at product tastings and finalist positions during the Butcher of the Year competition. The homemade kookworst has been our best-selling product for many years. A fixed recipe and the use of traditional natural casing ensure that the taste of the past is preserved. Many generations of children and adults in Roelofarendsveen and the surrounding area have grown up with ‘Cees’s meat’.
