Even though the original Zaanse Mayonnaise is already very low in salt, a special variant has been developed for the diet shelf. This without disturbing the unique taste of the Zaanse Mayonnaise. 80% vegetable oil, free-range egg yolk, fine mustard, natural vinegar and herbs. The salt reduction has been achieved by largely replacing sodium with potassium and herbs. Sodium is a mineral that is part of salt. Too much sodium can cause high blood pressure and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Reducing daily salt intake is important. The health council indicates that 6 grams of salt per day should be the acceptable daily intake.
