In 1865, Francesco Bertolli founded a local shop in the city of Lucca, the heart of the Tuscan countryside. In this small regional shop he sold typical regional products from the Tuscan region, such as olive oil, wine, cheese and olives in barrels and bags. The building where the company was founded at the time is still there. At that time, Bertolli's passion for good food arose.
