There are only a few days during each cycle when a woman can become pregnant: the days leading up to ovulation and the day of ovulation itself. But cycles are irregular, as is the timing of ovulation, meaning that as many as 1 in 2 women may be trying to get pregnant at the wrong time in their cycle (1). These simple urine tests are more than 99% accurate in detecting an increase in an important fertility hormone (luteinizing hormone) 24-36 hours before ovulation. A clear smiley is shown on the digital display if an LH increase has been detected, so that you can know that this day and the day after are the 2 days on which you have the best chance of becoming pregnant.
