This is a wine to sit quietly with. A classic from the south of the Rhone. It consists of a mix of grapes that include grenache, syrah and mourvedre. The vines, most of them more than 45 years old, are in vineyards covered with large boulders that retain the sun's heat during the day and release it to the plant at night. Thoroughly ripe grapes are harvested, full of sweet juice. This dark red, powerful wine is made from this. Full fruity and spicy, with the sweetness of spices and a spicy twist of the pepper mill. Sun wine is one for a special dinner, for example with game, a nice entrecote or a hearty stew with mushrooms. It comes from Guigal, the most important winemaking family of the Rhone. After grandpa Etienne and father Marcel, Philippe, the third generation, is now in charge.
