Georges Duboeuf Fleurie

0.75 l

    Extra information

    Wine

Fleurie is a special Beaujolais. It is one of the so-called crus. You have 'generic' Beaujolais and the crus. For the former, the grapes may come from all over the region, for the crus only from specific vineyards in certain municipalities. That is how it is determined by law. The starting point for recording those crus was the terroir per village. As a result, one cru tastes very light and the other fuller. Fleurie is something in between. You can taste exactly what you would expect from Beaujolais in this wine, so a lot of red summer fruit, but it has a bit more body and bite than, for example, a Beaujolais Villages. It remains nice and light and juicy, but you can also eat well with it. Think of chicken, salads with bacon or fried fish.
