    Wine

Bin is another word for barrel. The number used to refer to the wine in that particular barrel. At Hardys it has now become the name of a wine. Bin 141 is a soft white wine from Colombard and Chardonnay. The grapes come from different climate zones in the south of Australia. During the blending of the final wine, the winemaker has wines with a lot of fresh acidity, made from grapes from cooler areas, and thick, full-bodied wines from the warmer zones. Their specific properties complement each other nicely to form this mild Bin 141 which, thanks to the possibility of mixing, tastes exactly the same every year. The idea of blending grapes from different regions is by no means new: founder Thomas Hardy started it on a small scale 16 years ago. Many large wine companies have followed Hardy's idea.
