About Johma Johma is the best-known and largest salad maker in the Netherlands and has a long history. Since 1968, the tastiest fresh chilled salads have come from Johma’s kitchens. When making its salads, Johma always has one goal in mind: Johma simply must be the very best! The story begins in 1968, when Johan Schreur started making salads himself in his garage together with his wife Gerrie in Glanerbrug, a village near Enschede in Twente. The name Johma is a combination of Johan and Martin. The first customers were butchers and small grocery stores in the east of the country. In the mid-1970s, more and more salads were sold, so a larger production site was needed. They found this in Losser, also in Twente, a few kilometres away. They have been based here for over 50 years now. In the years that followed, many different varieties were launched. Think of filled egg salad and chicken samba salad.
