Joseph Drouhin Meursault
Meursault is perhaps the best-known wine village in Burgundy. In the surrounding vineyards, grapes grow that, in the hands of skilled winemakers, produce top-quality wines. One of the three major festivals in Burgundy also takes place here. In the third week of November, around 600 local winegrowers gather in the village in the afternoon for a cheerful and long harvest festival. Maison Joseph Drouhin was founded in 1880. The house owns vineyards scattered across Burgundy, including in the top regions of Chablis, Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. And it has rows of vines in the U.S. coastal state of Oregon, which is located in the northeast of America, near the Canadian border. The winemaker is Véronique Drouhin, one of the four grandchildren of Joseph Drouhin, all of whom still lead the company to this day.
