La Palma Carménère Reserve

Founded in 1824, Vina la Rosa is one of Chile’s oldest wineries. In 1824 don Francisco Ignacio decided to buy a hacienda for his firstborn son. He fell in love with the beautiful landscape of the Cachapoal Valley, 120 kilometers south of Santiago. He bought the hacienda from Chile’s first president, Manual Encalada. The purchase included not only the farm, but also wine barrels, wine cellars and grapevines imported from France. Since then, the family has devoted itself with great passion to viticulture. Today, the sixth generation is at the helm of this winery.
