This is the red wine of the Luces trio, a fairly new line of Vinas del Vero from Somontano, Spain. In addition to this red, we also have a white wine and a rose in the range. You can easily recognize the Luces wines by the fresh label, which immediately gives you a cheerful feeling. That's what they're meant for: wine for a convivial moment, with or without something easy to eat. This red is supple with fresh aromas of juicy summer fruits such as currant and cherry, a hint of spearmint and some vanilla in the aftertaste. That vanilla comes from the American oak barrel that the wine has been in for a few months to make it rounder and softer. The winemaker himself prefers to drink on the cool side, at 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. Delicious with tapas and all kinds of dishes from the fast kitchen.
