As early as 1040, the Benedictine monks of the monastery were granted the right to brew beer. Since 1803, the brewery has been owned by the Free State of Bavaria. Much has changed over the centuries, but the traditions are upheld with honour. Today, the brewery works together with the Technical University of Munich. The modern brewing facility, combined with history and tradition, produces fifteen original beers of exceptional quality.
