Soup: Use approximately 15 g Cornstarch for 1 liter of soup. Gravy: Use approximately 10 g cornflour for 500 ml gravy. 2. Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir with a fork or whisk until smooth. 3. Add the cornstarch mixture to the hot soup or gravy while stirring. 4 Bring the whole to the boil while stirring and let it simmer for about 1 minute. Mix 30 g cornstarch with 4 tablespoons of cold milk and stir with a fork or whisk until smooth. 2. Bring 500 ml milk with 15 g butter or margarine to the boil. 3. Add the cornstarch mixture to the hot milk while stirring. 4. Cook the sauce gently for another 1 minute. 5 Season the sauce with salt and herbs. TIPS CREAM SAUCE: add 3 tablespoons of (coffee) cream to the white sauce. CHEESE SAUCE: mix 75 g grated old cheese into the white sauce. CURRY SAUCE: Mix 1 teaspoon of curry powder and 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce into the white sauce.
