The process for our Lurpak® butter begins with about 20 kg of Danish whole milk from which 1 kg of butter is made. The most valuable and flavourful part of the milk, the cream, is carefully 'ripened', after which butter is made. Lactic acid cultures are added that give a fresh and lightly aromatic taste to the creamy character that creates the distinctive Lurpak® flavour. That’s it. Nothing more is added to our lightly salted butter varieties than a pinch of salt.
