Rustenberg is one of the most beautiful wineries in South Africa. The white buildings in the 'dutch colonial style' stand out beautifully against the underlying Simonsberg. The house has a history that goes back to 1682 with colorful stories about the different owners. It has been in the hands of the Barlows since 1941: this family has been making fantastic wines on this chic estate for more than 70 years. Showpieces are the Stellenbosch Chardonnay and the red John X Merriman. According to winemaker Simon Barlow, you can taste the power of the Stellenbos terroir in these wines.
