We are André and Els van Rhee, the third generation butchers from the beautiful village of Uddel, in the middle of the Veluwe. Between 1999 and 2003 we took over the butcher's shop from André's uncle and father. Making meat and sausage is in our blood. Over the years we have received several awards, including the Bronze Smoked Sausage. We have also been at the top of the Best Sausage Maker in the Netherlands several times.
Our typical Gelderland sandwich sausage is one of the first products with which Van Rhee established its good name. We have been making the sausage according to the same traditional recipe for many years. The sausage is lightly smoked over oak and beech wood chips. This creates the wonderfully soft aftertaste of (a little) smoke on a creamy slice of luncheon meat.
