The story
In 1945, Aat van Dobben opened his sandwich shop on Korte Reguliersdwarsstraat in the heart of Amsterdam. Here, the famous Van Dobben sandwich was born: a croquette made in-house, served on a fresh white bun, with a little butter.
News of these delicious croquettes spread like wildfire, and soon there were queues stretching to the corner of the street. Today, the croquettes with their unmistakable Van Dobben flavour are still traditionally tasty and just as beloved.
